I never thought I would write a book. I think that is the case for many if not most authors. I am very much a regular person, just living my life. But, I went through something traumatic and writing out the whole thing and writing about my recovery, well...it helped me to reclaim my voice.
I am so excited that tomorrow (January 28th) is the UK release for my book, Liar Laurie: Breaking the Silence on Sexual Assault. It will be released on March 28th in North America! I received my author copies in the mail a few weeks ago, and it has been so surreal to hold my book and to know that soon it will be out in the world. I cannot even imagine how it will feel to see it in bookstores!
I am so grateful to be able to share this story and to hopefully help others in the process. Proceeds from the book go to The Shaw Mind Foundation, which is a charity that helps people with mental health struggles. As someone who dealt with severe depression including suicidal thoughts, this charity is incredibly important to me. I am ready to share my journey and my story of rape and recovery.
